Mass. man killed in Providence motorcycle crash, police say

A Massachusetts man is dead after he crashed a motorcycle on Interstate 95 in Providence, according to the Rhode Island State Police Department. State police said the crash happened at about 2:35 pm Saturday on I-95 south near the I-195 interchange. Investigators determined that 58-year-old Michael Morrissey, of Sharon, was operating a motorcycle in the high-speed lane on I-95 south when he lost control of his motorcycle just before the I-195 east overpass.According to state police, Morrissey’s motorcycle struck the jersey barrier in the center median and he was thrown from the vehicle. He suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision. Authorities said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
